Food systems are responsible for a third of global anthropogenic GHG emissions. Study presents a global food emissions database called EDGAR-FOOD that estimates greenhouse gas emissions for 1990–2015. In 2015, food-system emissions represented 34% of total greenhouse gas emissions.
